The World Flying Disc Federation is pleased to announce that the WFDF 2016 World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) will be hosted in the city of Wrocław (Poland). The event will be held from July 31-August 6, 2016 at the facilities at the Pola Marsome fields in Wrocław. The finals will be staged in the Stadion Olimpijski (Stadium), a venue of the 2017 IWGA World Games, on August 6, 2016.  The successful bid, which topped five other qualified bids, came from the Ultimate bro s.c. (UB) group headed by Michal Dul and is supported and endorsed by the Polish Ultimate Players Association.

"WFDF is extremely pleased to have the opportunity to showcase WJUC 2016 in the city where the 2017 edition of the World Games will be held one year later,” stated WFDF President Robert "Nob" Rauch. “We expect upwards of 40 teams and some 1,000 athletes for WJUC and are confident that the tournament organizing committee will make the experience of all Ultimate players travelling to Poland a memorable one.  We are confident that the event will help generate anticipation and interest among the local sports enthusiasts for the World Games.”

Michael Dul stated that “Wrocław is one of the fastest growing Ultimate cities in Poland and we feel WJUC 2016 is a great opportunity to promote the sport to Wroclaw and to showcase our wonderful city to the rest of the world. Poland has a young ultimate community, with a lot of ambitious players and teams and, with the World Games to be held in Wroclaw in 2017, we want to show how important and positive Ultimate is for the youth of the city and to show the many spectators what a fun sport it is.”

“As a tournament organizing committee we organized the EYUC in 2011 and have arranged the Polish National Championships for many years,” Dul added. It is through this experience we have learned what it takes to organize a fun and successful Ultimate Tournament. WJUC 2016 will be the largest Ultimate tournament in Poland and we take our responsibility very seriously.  We love Ultimate.”

The last WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships were held in the city of Lecco, Italy, in 2014.
