22 May 2018
The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) 2018 World Ultimate Club Championships (WUCC) and Tournament Organizing Committee (TOC) are pleased to announce UltiPhotos, based in Washington, DC, as the Official Event Photographers. Further, Ultiworld, based in New York, and The ShowGame, based in London, will be the Official Event Writers for Championships. The quadrennial WFDF 2018 World Ultimate Club Championships feature the best Ultimate club teams from around the world. First held in 1989, this year’s edition will feature 2,800 athletes on 128-teams in three divisions from 36 countries from the 14th-21st of July 2018.
This media partner announcement builds upon Fulcrum Media Group previously being named the official live production coverage provider, with 90+ games to be live-streamed over the eight-day, open-to-the-public event. More than 1,000 games will be held at Mason High School’s Atrium Stadium (Mason, OH) and Lebanon Sports Complex (Lebanon, OH). For all tournament related info, please visit http://www.wucc2018.com.
“All three media partners bring professional photography and writing coverage, and will create game and team previews, recaps, feature stories and ultimate community conversations all within a daily bulletin,” stated Dale Wilker, the WUCC 2018 Tournament Director. “With past work including detailed reporting at nationally sanctioned USA Ultimate youth, college, and adult tournaments, plus numerous WFDF World Championships, this group will deliver spectacular stories in-person and online, furthering the growth of Ultimate in this its 50th year.”
WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch commented that “we are looking to bring our great sport to a much broader audience than just those present at the event as athletes or spectators. This combination of media – video, photography, and both game and feature-oriented written coverage – will give our audiences a close-up experience no matter where they are across the globe.”
UltiPhotos will provide professional event photography across the Mixed Gender, Women’s and Men’s divisions, plus in-depth coverage of showcase and championship bracket games, along with daily photo galleries on http://www.ultiphotos.com for players and fans to keep up with the action.
